Brink

The film places the characters in extrordinary circumstance where they know that in a short time they must face their untimely deaths.  This prompts Jeremy to reveal his hidden love for his childhood friend Evelyn, a move that under normal circumstances he may never have made.

If one is able to overlook the weakness in the premise that the earth is losing it's gravity (after all it is sci-fi), then I think that this is a great concept to use in this sort of story.  It's novelty left me feeling a little bewildered which fits perfectly with the atmosphere the director was trying to create.  The music, pacing, silence and special effects of various things floating around, was able to produce a deep emotional response in me which I believe is the film's biggest strength.
